An diesem Tag vor sieben Jahren hat mein Bruder Tom diese Welt verlassen. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war er 21 Jahre alt, fast fertig mit seinem Studium und, soweit ich das beurteilen kann, glücklich. Am Abend des 13.07.2016 besuchte er eine Party von der er nicht mehr zurückkam. Tom konsumierte in dieser Nacht die Droge 2-CB und sprang daraufhin aus dem Fenster des zweiten Stockes. Er landete auf einem Zaun und überlebte den Sturz nicht.
Was meinem Bruder passiert ist kann jedem passieren und das kann schneller gehen als man denkt. Wir alle bewegen uns in einer Szene, in der Drogen schon immer eine Rolle gespielt haben. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass wir uns mit den Gefahren auseinandersetzen und versuchen Risiken zu minimieren. Ich möchte weder irgendjemanden für seinen Konsum verurteilen, noch Angst machen. Vielmehr geht es mir darum, dass wir als Gemeinschaft noch mehr aufeinander aufpassen und das Thema Safer Use nicht vernachlässigen.
Einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Aufklärung und Risikominimierung leistet meiner Meinung Sonar Berlin. Das Team von Sonar Berlin organisiert Infostände auf Veranstaltungen, Schulungen für Personal aus dem Nachtleben und vermittelt individuelle Beratung und Unterstützung rund ums Thema (Party-)Drogen. Um diese wichtige Arbeit zu unterstützen, gehen alle Einnahmen, die beim Verkauf dieses Tracks entstehen, an Sonar Berlin bzw. Fixpunkt e.V..

On this day seven years ago, my brother Tom left this world. At that time he was 21 years old, almost finished with his studies and, as far as I can tell, happy. On the evening of 13.07.2016, he attended a party from which he never returned. Tom consumed the drug 2-CB that night and subsequently jumped out of the second floor window. He landed on a fence and did not survive the fall.
What happened to my brother can happen to anyone and it can happen faster than you think. We all move in a scene where drugs have always played a role. That makes it all the more important that we deal with the dangers and try to minimise risks. I don't want to condemn anyone for their consumption, nor do I want to scare them. Rather, I want us as a community to look out for each other even more and not to neglect the issue of safer use.
In my opinion, Sonar Berlin makes an important contribution to education and risk minimisation. The Sonar Berlin team organises information stands at events, training for nightlife staff and arranges individual counselling and support around the topic of (party) drugs. To support this important work, all proceeds from the sale of this track will go to Sonar Berlin or Fixpunkt e.V..
